promotion and relegation arrangements.

2. Arrangement of Fixtures

Fixture dates are to be proposed by the home team.
If the away team does not formally accept or reject the proposed date within 21 days, the date will be considered automatically accepted.
Any subsequent change to an agreed fixture date must be mutually agreed by both clubs.
If a club has two or more teams in the same division, the matches between those teams must be played as the first two fixtures of the season.

3. Fixtures and Results

  a) All fixtures must be played after 12:01am on 1st April and completed by 11:59pm on 31st August.
In exceptional circumstances, the League Committee may allow an extension until 14th September.
b) The home club must enter the match result in the league app within three days of the match. Results cannot be accepted until all players are approved in the app.
c) If a fixture dispute cannot be resolved, both clubs must report the issue to the Match Secretary within seven days for adjudication.

4. Games and Matches

Each match consists of five foursomes.
1 point is awarded for each game won.
Half a point is awarded for each halved game.
The winning team will receive 2 league points. If the overall match is tied, each team will receive 1 point.
All team pairings must start from the first tee within 60 minutes of the agreed start time. Failure to do so will result in the automatic loss of the game(s) concerned.

5. Players

  a) If a player has played for the first team, they are then ineligible to play for the third or fourth teams during the same season.
b) If a player has played for the second team, they are then ineligible to play for the fourth team during the same season.
c) After four matches for the first team, a player may not play for the second team.
d) After four matches for the second team, a player may not play for the third team.
e) After four matches for the third team, a player may not play for the fourth team.

i) All players must be playing members of their club and be affiliated to their County Golf Union.

6. Team Selection

  a) Team captains must enter their pairings (forename and surname) on the league app before the match start time, in playing order.
b) No changes may be made after the match start time without the agreement of the opposing captain.
If pairings do not go out in the correct order (unless agreed), the Match Secretary may deem the game(s) lost, and the Match Secretary decision is final.

7. Local Rules

All matches shall be played under the Local Rules of the host club in effect on the day of play.
Players may use distance-measuring devices only when the device measures distance and nothing more.
Any device that has additional functions which could assist play”such as measuring slope, wind speed, temperature, or other playing conditions”is not permitted, even if those features are not used.
Using such a device constitutes a breach of Rule 4.3a, first breach of this rule is loss of hole, second breach is disqualification.

8. Ineligible Players

If a team fields an ineligible player:
The game in which the player took part is automatically awarded to the opposition.
The match result will be adjusted if necessary.
The offending club will also be deducted 2 league points.

9. Match Postponement and Abandonment (Bad Weather)

If a match is postponed before the scheduled start time, clubs must agree a new date within seven days, update the league app and notify the Match Secretary. The new date must comply with Rule 3a.
If a match is abandoned after commencing, due to weather, and both captains agree, either:
a) The current score stands, or
b) The match is replayed.
Unless (a) is explicitly agreed, the League Committee will enforce (b), unless the overall match result had already been decided.
If replaying, a new date must be agreed within seven days, and the Match Secretary informed.
A replayed match counts as a new fixture, and appearances in the abandoned match do not count toward player match totals.
The home club applies its normal procedures when deciding on abandonment.

If a team fails to play a scheduled fixture, it may be suspended for the following season.

If a withdrawn team is later readmitted, it will be ineligible to win divisional prize money for its first two seasons back. In such a case, the second-placed team receives the prize money.
A club may only withdraw its lowest-ranked team for an upcoming season.
